Iwona i Paweł – BUREGDŽINICA

Our adventure with Sarajevo always seems to be too short, no matter how much time we spend there. This time it was a week that is summarized in this post about food.

In Belgrade you can buy various burek: with meat (sa mesom) or cheese (sa sirom), without any filling (prazni). In Sarajevo there are more options (potatoes, spinach), however the matter is more complicated linguistically, because burek is one and can only be with meat. It is therefore necessary to correctly use the range of terms available in buregdžinica (burek bakery), where the king burek is followed by a sirnica or zjelenica.
